Project Overview
We have set out to create a meaningful activity for a High School physics class. The goal is to provide students with an enriching and interesting exercise in the concepts of kinetic energy, potential energy, and the law of conservation of energy. We have chosen to teach these concepts though an experiment using roller coasters, a topic which may capture the attention of the students. By including a competitive aspect of the lab, the students will feel compelled to do the best work that they can, and may even research solutions from home. Through the roller coaters, we hope to teach the kids how different modes of energies work.
